Sermon on Faith - Hebrew 11
Text taken from Hebrew 11 verse 6. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Faith can be seen as risk. No wonder the bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. The God we did not see or seen before. And that he rewards those that diligently Serve / take risk of living for him. Imagine a woman with out womb till trusting/ having faith in God for children.
And God who diligently rewards those that take risk of believing in him visit those by giving them twice, triplet e.t.c. faith moves God. Exodus 2:1-3 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. You see what we said that faith is risk. Here the mother of Moses took a risk against the decrees of the earthly king. In this life we can not succeed with out faith in Christ Jesus alone. Because of the risk her son Moses was preserve and do you know Moses has no age mate probably other mothers did not take risk as she took. Moses became the person God used to bring the Israelite back to the promised Land.
Imagine what happened during the time of old when Moses was taking the Israelite to promise Land. Just make out time and study the Exodus from chapter 1- end. But where I want us to consider now is Exodus 14:5-23.
Hallelujah. Faith from this text is moving forward. From that verse 15, Moses moved because God told him to do so even though there was red Sea before him . He moved. In the journey of life, you need faith to keep moving even when things around you is trying to question your believe or faith. Keep trusting in God . It was faith that Moses used to achieve the plan of God in his time. It was as Moses moved forward to the red Sea as commanded by God that God told him to raise your staff verse 16.
This could also be you. If you can move that is exercising your faith God will speak to you on what to do to solve your problem. Faith moves God to act. They passed the red Sea. When you develop or grow in faith, yes faith grows the Lord will give you testimony out of your problem. The Egyptians they saw, they didn't see them again. So also it will be with you that those problem the Lord will glorify him and you will not see the problem again.
When you keep your faith God can still make you famous like the Isrealite that other nations feared them , because they put their faith in Christ . Are you believing God for children, I have seen 50 years old woman carrying children, God can do it for you if you have faith in him. He fails not. He will never put you to shame Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. God is faithful. Believe and it will come to pass in your family/life.
How Do we develop our faith/ how do we grow in faith?
1. Born again
2. Word of God
3. prayer
4. Fellowship
Born again.
Repentance from sin. Born again is having relationship with God. Is as we relate with him, he reveal himself which will help us to have faith. The more you know God the more you will have strong faith. Remember our text said with out faith it is impossible to please God. How can you please whom you do not know.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. God is his word. We can not have faith that moves mountain with out deliberately studying the Bible which is the God him self. The more we know him the more we grow in faith.
Show me a person who does not study his bible and I will show a person who always say my pastor said or a person who fears so easily. But when you know the word you will be bold at all times. Because you are sure you will not be put to shame. Romans 10 vs 11.

Prayers.
Prayers is the way we commune to ,God. As we pray it shows that we are depending on God. Resting on him to help us. Is good when we want to pray we follow Acts method.

T Thanksgiving
S supplication.
No wonder Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. So when we pray, being careful for nothing, believing God that he will answer us and thanking him even when we have not seen the results, verse 7 says the peace of God will fill our hearts. That means high pretention and other disease will cease. Prayers gives you strength to possess your possession.
Fellowship.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching we fellowship together we will hear testimony that will cause us to trust and have faith in him. Testimonies that will make you know that your problem is small for him to answer because God is in fellowship.
